See MINE.4 and MINE.7;Young forest community on a somewhat gentle sideslope. The forest is rocky and domintated by Quercus rubra and Acer rubrum. Several sawn stumps are found throughout the community. The forest floor is littered with woody debris and large boulders. Only a few T2 trees in the plot. Much of the canopy is T3. Most of the trees appear to be stump sprouts. There is an old skid trail which crosses the community.
Representativeness
Medium sized patch of a red oak / red maple forest. Similar to much of the forest at the Briery Mountain WMA, Preston County. This forest seems to be younger and more fragmented.
