500 acre WMA surrounded by larger private forested blocks. Predominant forest on warmer aspects are oak/ericad and oak-white pine ericad. Bottom has mesic white pine, probably successional and a narrow wetland corridor with alder. Broad ridgetop above plot is rich oak-hickory similar to MOLA.2.;Small bowl on upper north facing slope ("head of the holler"). Ridge on sandstone / conglomerate parent material. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by medium-large red and chestnut oaks with pignut. Subcanopy and tall shrub strata include chestnut, striped maple, red maple, gum and sweet birch. Oak seedlings share dominance with ericad shrubs in the ground layer.
