Community is deciduous forest dominated by large dry site oaks (chestnut, red, white in stand) with gum and red maple in smaller size classes. American chestnut is abundant in tall shrub layer. Short shrubs include huckleberry, minnie bush, and blueberry. Many of tha large oaks are dead from Gypsy moth infestation (roughly 4 years ago), but some survived. Dead wood will soon drop, further decreasing canopy cover. Old fire scar on locust snag. Lots of edge class diversity.
