Towards open glade grades to alder, then Carex utriculata (see plots MONF.116-122). Towards upland grades to narrow band of spruce and then rich northern hardwoods.;Hummocky spruce woodland with high diversity due to microtopography and its effects on hydrology. Somewhat open canopy with some large trees and tip mounds suggesting a persistent woodland physiognomy. Hummocks formed by tip mounds. Many trees are leaning and upset. Cored tree (Picea 15 cm dbh, approx 82 yrs).

Medium sized patch of conifer woodland which occurs on edge of open bogs.
