Edge of large open wetland which has large "bog" community (MONF.132) and large patch of Carex utriculata (MONF.134).;Narrow spit spruce between 2 herbaceous seeps which drain into a large open wetland. This community is a hummocky woodland with wetland indicators in the swales. Many trees are dead or showing signs of past stress, probably due to increased seepage on shallow soil. Woodland physiognomy due to many dead snags.
Representativeness
Narrow spit. Plot covers most of the patch but additional patches (interrupted by upland spruce) are repeated on these spits, on the edge of the big wetland.
