Our plot borders a Solidago rugosa foodplain to the N and W, to the south is a Picea rubens - Betula alleghaniensis / Vaccinium erythrocarpum forest. Several meters south of this forest community is a large USFS grazing allotment. Approx. 20 m E of the plot the community is similar but Scirpus 'atrocinctus' dominates.;This is an early-successional herbaceous community. The area was historically logged. The beaver pond looks inactive. The opening has most likely been maintained by beaver. There is a handicap accessible boardwalk which is located in the southern end of the wetland complex. Tea Creek Mountain is owned by the Monongahela National Forest and is therefore subject to logging.

This is a small patch community along an old beaver pond dominated by Leersia and Sparganium. This differs from other Leersia - Sparganium types we have seen. Usually the two species are intermixed. Here they are more zonal with the Leersia occurring on a
