Spruce - yellow birch - red maple upland forest to the west and north, Euthamia graminifolia levee and Glade Run to the east, and Alder to the south. Forest road runs a few hundred yards to the west but no trails or roads intersect this wetland. This area of Monongahela National Forest could be logged in the future.;Seepage wetland with runway connecting it to Glade Run. Stunted spruce trees on hummocks. A few old stumps and down logs. Possibly mid-successional since the opening may be maintained by seepage from the adjacent forest. Sphagnum peat with 3-way sedge. Relatively undisturbed.
Representativeness
The only 3-way sedge community and the only peatlend we have seen in this wetland. It is drier than the 3-way sedge community at Big Run Bog (MONF.138). The plot was placed to maximize peat physiognomy.
