Around the wetland center is a thicket of Rhododendron maximum and Kalmia latifolia, then a zone of forest (marginal wetland) with small patches of Sphagnum. Wilderness area. There are no trails to this wetland.;Flat mountain top with headwater swamp dominated by short spruce trees and tall shrubs, over Sphagnum with cottongrass in the small openings. Bigger trees appear highly stressed and there are numerous snags in the largest size classes. S1 Picea cored and field aged (30 years).
