Surrounding forest is northern hardwoods with large red oak and black cherry. Slopes are gentle and there are numerous small streams which dissect the lower mountain side (putative shale topography).;Small herbaceous seep on a terrace slightly above a small entrenched stream channel. Typical seep indicators (Carex prasina, Carex scabrata, Viola cucullata, Chrysosplenium) are all present. Buttressed roots and downfall in plot.
