Landscape Narrative ? Center of large open peatland in wilderness area. Cottongrass peatland with varying amounts of Juncus effusus surround the plot. Small headwater stream runs 50m to the north (parallel to rectangular plot).;Strip of Scirpus in hummocky peatland. Old silvery roots under many of the hummocks. Wood encountered at 60-100cm depth in three separate auger holes. Rock encountered in one hole at 90cm.
