Upstream end of complex has small patch of swamp forest (plot MOPNF.195). Uplands are rich northern hardwoods.;Beaver-influenced wetland complex with a central community type of herbaceous marsh dominated by Scirpus cyperinus overtopping dense cover by forbs (Impatiens capensis, Galium tinctorium etc.). Center of wetland has a narrow meandering stream. There are many dead stumps and some snags indicating past forest physiognomy. Buried peat is further evidence of dramatic changes. Standing water over much of plot after yesterday's rains. No exotics or invasives noted.
Representativeness
