Landscape Narrative ? E6 slow meandering stream flowing from upland into bog. Facing upstream on right is upland cherry forest and to left is MONF.226. Dense spruce - Rhododendron forest surrounds this acidic beaver-impacted wetland. No exotic species or human disturbance noted within 1000m of wetland. No trails, difficult access.;Standing dead snags around plot, beaver-influenced. Two-foot Polytrichum hummocks near stream.
Representativeness ? This community and the cottongrass peatland (MONF.226) repeat throughout the two Falls Run wetlands on Cheat Mountain. The examples we surveyed are of typical size for these wetlands.
