Wilderness area with scattered patches of spruce-hemlock in a matrix of northern hardwoods deciduous forest with conifer regen and small conifer groves. Far away from all roads and trails.;Spruce-hemlock forest on level ground above a 20 ft tall escarpment. On a northerly facing slope. Some spruce more than 100 years old with suppressed growth at beginning and end (from core). Stand has multiple size classes and abundant down wood. Higher herb diversity than last plot, possibly in response to canopy gaps. Recent & old tip mounds.
Representativeness
Appearing similar to last plot floristically. Somewhat bigger than below. Medium sized patch identified as older spruce on USFS map layer.
