Broad mountain top with road to top and trail along ridge. Mountaintop is occupied by various spruce and shrub communities. More mature spruce forest was sampled by MONF.282. Other spruce forests are even aged with very little in understory.;Broad level to rolling mountain top at high elevation. Community is an open woodland of spruce which are flagged at top and have bare trunks on the windward side (west). Woodland physiognomy may be successional after burning (to promote blueberry production) but succession may be slow. Heavy ground cover by Cladina with some open rock piles. Many spruce are <7 cm dbh.
Representativeness
Typical of stand with open woodland of somewhat stunted spruce. Similar to plot MONF.281 but more level with more soil and Vaccinium angustifolim and Cladonia.
