Across creek is a road. Upstream valley opens up with a mixture of private / USFA ownership.;Water gap of Reeds Creek through limestone formations. Plot is about 20 m above creek. Boulder - rocky substrate community is a forest of tall, dying hemlock with red oak, basswood, and sugar maple. Ground layer is dominated by knee high wood nettles which out competes stiltgrass - other rich site indicators are mixed in.

Large patch of rich hemlock on cool aspect of water gap through limestone. Last chance to sample before hemlock is all dead.
