USFS behind locked gates with grazing alltoments on limestone lithology. Limestone is mapped downslope from plot, but much of that area (outside pasture and cedar succession) also seems sterile.;Gentle sloping nose between two dry drains on lower eastern flank of North Fork Mountain. Red sandstone "bricks and plates" are exposed. Site is dry, with much exposed small rocks, dirt and duff. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by white oak, chestnut oak and pignut.
