USFS, roaded tract behind locked gates. Roads are full of microstegium vimneum. Roads may have been for "habitat" improvement. There are a couple strange wetlands, probably created, with buttonbush in cages.;Lower ridge shoulder above small drain in foothills on limestone lithology. Platy, gray loose rock reacts with acid - other rock types are also scattered in plot. Community is a mixed deciduous - evergreen woodland dominated by chinquapin oak and E. Red Cedar. Many large sawn cedar stumps are in stand and wood with fire scars. Herb layer is sparse - moss cover moderate. Soil pH reaction is highly variable and so is color. Geologic contact zone.

Small patch juniper - chinquapin woodland on south aspect ridge shoulder. Plot includes larger living juniper.
