To south od pavement are bouldery gullies which appear to cary heavy water, then further are convex rock river forest (MONF.463). Pine canopy continues downslope into drain.;Steep east facing sandstone pavement on upper slope of N. Fork Mt. Community is an open woodland of dwarf pines rooted in lines along verticle breaks in the bedrock. Hot bedrock supports crustose lichens, but these are probably subject to heavy flash flooding during storm events. Edaphic pine woods constrained by lack of soil.
