Large USFS tract w/ extensive gated road system. See other plots sampled today (MONF.481-483). There are also a variety of sylvicultural units and wildlife openings.;Warm SW aspect, which is one of the predominant aspects of side ridges in the Pheasant Mountain system. Mapped as Hampshire Shale formation but there is lots of platy sandstone exposed on this convex ridge spur. Community is deciduous forest dominated by a mixture of dry site oaks with abundant sourwood and gum in subcanopy. Shrub layer is dominated by mountain laurel.

Large patch oak/ ericad forest on warm aspect. Repeated and extensive on SW slopes in vicinity.
