On opposite aspect, rocky slope, limestone influence is more pronounced, with chinquapin aok and juniper.;Shoulder slope on residual soils on dip slope near ridgeline. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by red and white oak with hickory and sugar maple in the subcanopy. Understory is grassy, probably due in part to deer herbivory, or somewhat enriched top soil, not condusive to ericad shrubs. Rock in plot fizzed w/ acid (but transported from rocky aspect).
