Ledges along creek downstream have yew. Floodplains below have yellow birch over lush shrub and herb layer. Most forests in drainage downstream are even aged stands. Old roadbed in bottom is washed out and discontinuous.;Bottom of deep, steep sided valley on lower slope above creek. Substrate is rocky colluvium with abundant moss cover. Community is a forest dominated by large red oaks mixed with mesophyllic species (basswood, ash, elm, sugar maple). Understory is dominated by Virginia creeper with a few herbs.
