Upslope is a rich red oak - sugar maple forest. Downslope is a rich oak-hickory forest sampled several years ago (MONF.210). There is a Forest Service Rd located 30 m below the plot.;Moss and lichen covered limestone cliff. The cliff is short ranging from 7-10 meters tall within the plot. Although the cliff is shaded by forest no trees are rooted within the plot. The cliff seems highly erodable with several large chunks of colluvium laying on the forest floor below. At the base of the cliff a den of some kind was observed.
Representativeness
Small band of exposed greenbrier limestone bedrock. Plot was placed to maximize rock cover. This is la somewhat rare cliff type due to conversion to agriculture and mining.
