Otter Creek Wilderness. Mostly deciduous northern hardwoods with conifer patches. Back from open rock is a zone of dense evergreen shrub.;Sandstone outcrop near a high elevation summit overlooking Otter Creek. Massive conglomerate sandstone boulders were eroded with narrow crevices separating them. Stunted tree saplings and shrubs have dead limbs, from exposure to extreme weather. Depressions which hold water have mosses which are dried up at sample date.
