Isolated tract of Wilderness Area managed by the Monongahela National Forest. The North - South trail is located ca. 0.6 of a mile south. The community offers one of the nicest views I have observed in WV, looking NE across Hell for Certain Branch, virtually untouched by man for almost 100 years. (no roads or utility corridors). Back towards the trail spruce - yellow birch and yellow birch beech forests dominate.;Open sunny rock filed with scattered stunted Picea rubens, Betula alleghaniensis, Tsuga canadensis, Sorbus americana, and Rhododendrom maximum. Much of the plot consits of crustose lichen covered sandstone rocks. The rocks range in size from 1dm thick and 1 m across plates, to rectangular rocks the size of cars. The community is located roughly a 1/2 mile bushwack from the nearest trail and appears to get little if any visitation by hikers. Charcoal observed on woody debris in crevices.
