Below plot is beautiful forest, first basswood- redoak- sugar maple, then red oak - hickory - sugar maple, (new calcaerous oak association). Near bottom is walnut - elm - sugar.;Exposed limestone bedrock outcrop with vertical face up tp 4 m tall on SW facing upper mid-slope. Rock has moderate cover by mosses and lichens with some woody herbaceous perennials. There is essentially no canopy break - if plot is classified as forest, probably goes to calcaerous oak.
Representativeness
Ground - truthing Ferree circumneutral cliff. Entire small limestone outcrop/ledge, to sample lithomorphic habitat, trees rooted on outcrop included for dbh. Sampled in early spring before emergence.
