Downslope heaths disappear. Small creek and road run in bottom.;Upper mid-slope with south aspect on Chemung Formation. Rocky, shallow acidic soil. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by chestnut and scarlet oak. Stand origin ~1900. There are some shade tolerant trees in the subcanopy, but also some oak regeneration. Shrub layer has codominance by blueberries and mt. laurel.
