Adjacent uplands include northern hardwoods forests and red pine plantations. Apparently large evergreen signature around Little Laurel Creek is mostly red pine plantation (???).;Swamp forest on alluvial floodplain. Forest of hemlock, spruce, and yellow birch over rhododendron and heavy ground cover by Sphagnum spp. Hummocky microtopography with trees growing on nurse logs, windfall tip mounds, crayfish chimnies. Evidence of standing water earlier in the season.

Small patch along river floodplain. Most of the nearby red CIR photosignature in the Little Laurel Creek drainage may be red pine plantations rather than native spruce or hemlock forest, but there may be additional patches of the type represented by this
