Other, slightly hihjer, areas within campus loop have dominance by tulip poplar, rocky areas may have mixed successional communities or calcareous oak - hickory.;Sinkhole depression on karst topography. Area was probably cleared and farmed before it became reforested by successional tree species. Low areas, like this plot, are dominated by sycamore, but they are not floodplain communities. Tall shrub layer has spicebush, paw-paw, and multiflora rose. There may have been some efforts to reduce exotics on site.
