Convex positions on surrounding plateau top are matrix forests dominated by oaks and tulip poplar. Draw bottom is a more mesic community resmbling a high gradient Acer rubrum/Thelypteris noveboracensis forest seep which becomes a deciduous tree/big rhododendron ravine community downstream near road.;Northerly aspect of side slope of shallow ravine dissecting the plateau. Community is much more mesic than plateau top with residual soils (see plots 223, 225). Stand is dominated by tulip poplar with scattered larger cherry and sugar maple in the understory. Higher forb diversity than dryer aspects.
