Rolling plateau with dry oak forest on ridges quickly grading to mesic forest then seepy areas in the draw bottoms (see NERI.261- 266).;Flat ridge on plateau with dry, sandy, residual soil. Forest with large Quercus coccinea, Q. rubra, and Q. prinus with heavy cover by Gaylussacia baccata in the shrub layer. Very even community composition within this narrow rigetop position. Old stumps and down logs in plot, not apparently logged - but evidence of fire. May be virgin stand (very nice).
