The forest along both sides of the creek is a narrow zone of Betula allegheniensis and Rhododenron maximum.;Rocky streambed with boulders and sand bar accumulations. The stream is fast flowing here with a series of small waterfalls and small pools. At the ends of the pools which are also the tops of the waterfalls is where this community occurs. There are lots of down trees in the stream helping to create water breaks. This herbacous community consists of small (5 x 5 m) patches of vegetation scattered between boulders and flowing water.
