This is a typical dry site plot characterized by Quercus prinus and other Quercus spp. as well as Acer rubrum, Castanea dentata, etc... Lower down the slope there is a change to moister site tree species. Instead of Quercus prinus and Acer rubrum this area is dominated by Liriodendron tulipifera, Acer saccharum, and Aesculus flava.;This is a very dry part of this hillside. In places some bedrock is exposed. At about 5 inches or so the soil is very rocky.
