This is one of many small pocketed wetlands around the Kate's/Poll's Branch area. This is area is otherwise characterized by dry site vegetation (Acer rubrum, Quercus prinus, etc...).;This is a bowl or depressed area with a small drainage going through it. This drainage has been impounded by beaver activity creating this bowl or pocketed wetland. The small drainage does not have any water running through it at this time, but it is saturated to the surface.

This plot is a small wetland pocket along a drainage near Kate's Branch Trail. There are numerous other small areas like this in this region near Kate's/Poll's Branches.
