The cobble areas are dominated in some places by Carex torta and in other places by Salix caroliniana. Andropogon gerardii, Scirpus americanus, Justicia americana, Baptisia australis are spread throughout. Closer to the water's edge are large beds almost completely covered by Justicia americana.;This plot is in a riverside cobble community which parrallels the New River. It is surely flooded early in the season.
