This is one of many submerged plant beds along the banks of the New River.;This plot is in the channel of the New River. It is from the bank to about 15 to 20 feet into the channel. The water depth at the time the plot was taken ranged from 0" at the bank to approximately 2.5' at edge of vegetation.
Representativeness
This plot is one of many areas in the New River with totally submerged vegetation. This plot is dominated by Elodea canadensis. This is the only area in which Najas gracillima was found. It is quite common here along the west bank of the New River alon
