This plot is similar to the large Acer saccharum/Aesculus flava community except that Aesculus flava is not abundant in the tree layer. It is only abundant in the shrub layers. In this local area, Ulmus rubra seems to fill the role that Aesculus usually holds.;This plot is in an area with little canopy cover. Because of this Toxicodendron radicans has spread over much of the ground.
