This area is above the main floodplain area of the New River. It is characterized by a Acer saccharum/Aesculus flava dominance. The shrub layer is dominated by Asimina triloba and Lindera benzoin. Common herbs include Polygonum virginianum and Ageratina altissima var. altissima. This community is found all along this elevation throughout the area around Glade Creek Access Road.;This plot is located in a lowlevel woods area around the toeslope. The area is gently sloping and is covered with scattered boulders.
Representativeness
This plot is representative of a lowlevel woods. The area is probably Acer saccharum/Aesculus flava community. Other abundant canopy species include Liriodendron tulipifera and Fraxinus pensylvanica. Asimina triloba is very abundant in this lowlevel wo
