The occurrence is located along a depression between an upland old field to the east and a flood plain flat to the west where industrial construction is taking place. The area lies just south of the Bellville locks and dam.;The vegetation is somewhat patchy and larger trees are mixed with smaller ones. A very small stream with flat, muddy sides passes through the community and plot.The plot includes more water and mud than most of the rest of the community. The plot includes part of a clump of Saururus and part of a dense area of Scutellaria.
