The occurrence is located along the southern portion of a wide back channel in the Ohio River floodplain. It is just south and east of an upland terrace and is south of a forest of mixed content.;The depression is large and mainly contains two species. The Polygonum pensylvanicum is more dense over most of the area with the Phalaris arundinacea being more common along the side margins.
