A low channel runs from the area through a willow thicket and a Acer saccharinum forest to the river in the west. Nearby to the east is the RR grade and a seasonal inlet to the low area of the occurrence. To the north is a mixed Acer floodplain forest and a small dry field.;The area is a flood plain depression 3-5 ft. lower than the surrounding flat and is periodically inundated. OHRI classified name: Ludwigia palustris emergent community.
Representativeness
The plot is representative of of the majority of the community, but several other species (Polygonum, Hibiscus moscheutos, and an unknown grass) are scattered throughout the community.
