Pitch pine reproducing in rocks in open ->pics #122-126 and 131. Castanea dentata just off plot and flowering. Acer rubrum sprout orgin. Heavy insect damage to Quercus rubra. T1 Pinus rigida just off plot, carpenter ants on some Pinus rigida. Because of shallow soil several large T2 pitch pine have fallen over and are now continuing to grow in the shrub layer. Close to the clif, exposed trees are flagged to the east due to high winds. T2 Pinus rigida that have fallen over have fallen to the east. Lots of lichens on trees indicate they havent been burned in a long time.
