The plot is located at the top of the rock south of Roy Gap. The Seneca Rocks Visitor Center is located 0.4 miles WNW and 600ft below the plot. The North Fork South Branch Potomac River is located ca. 0.3 miles W of the plot. On the ridge to the S is older rock oak-pine forest, to the E is a large rock, below that is more mesic forest w / Tilia americana and dying Tsuga canadensis. Seneca Rocks is located 0.2 miles NE, across Judy Gap.;Dry stunted forest growing on exposed Tuscarora Sandstone cliff breaks. The plot is located near the top of the rock. There are several bedrock shelves and benches within the plot with 2m flat areas and 4-5 m vertical cliff faces. The forest is very open with large sunny gaps created by the cliff. Most of the trees are growing in cracks in the rock.
