Private lands with TNC easment along ridge of North Fork Mt. There is abundant red pine here including mono-cultures which could have come in after burning or pasture or could have been planted. More natural red pine is similar to PEND.66. Cliff adjacent is PEND.68.;Open sandstone pavement on top of cliffs along the ridge of North Fork Mt.. Temperatures in open are extreme and site is very dry, but also exposed to high winds, ice, etc.. Community has patchy cover by mountain laurel and huckleberry and there is abundant silvery nailwort in herb layer, but lichens are dominant. Lichen flora and cover is probably effected by trampling.

Plot includes entire width of rock pavement community that is repeated in narrower zones on cliff tops to north.
