Private property on remote mountaintop with steep gravel road to top (gated). Community on soil back from cliff is typical dwarf pitch pine / mountain laurel and huckleberry. Pitch pine also abundant below cliffs in bouldery ground.;Sandstone escarpment on top of North Fork Mountain with northwest aspect. Top 5 m of cliff has good exposure to light and rain before dropping to steep cliff face and overhangs. Community is dominated by umbillicate and crustose lichens with high cover. Level pavement on bouldertops shows trample by lower cover of umbillicates.
