Steep upper west facing slope with even-aged stand of red pine and mountain laurel dominant inthe understory. Heavy litter layer and sparse herb layer. Deer trails and browse line are evident and may be significantly altered understory composition compared to 1986 Stevenson study.
Representativeness
Even aged red pine with shrub layer. Downhill there is more sedge cover and less shrub. Over the crest is a dryer woodland with scrub oak.
