Floodplain forests along this stretch of the cheat are limited to point bars and islands. This is along a remote stretch of river. Downstream are some older floodplain forests that may be in better condition than this successional stand.;Point bar alluvial terrace with successional floodplain forest developed on old agricultural land. Probably not flooded every year only in highest water flooding events. Area is mapped as cleared land on topographic maps and soil survey photos from pre 1959. The forest is now dominated by fairly large Liriodendron tulipifera with scattered Robimia pseudoacacia. The subcanopy and tall shrub strata are dominated by Carpinus caroliniana and the herbaceous flora is dominated by exotics.
