Linear band between 2 knolls in an old oxbow. To the north, upland forest, to the south a more mature Tsuga canadensis/Rhododendron maximum swamp adjacent to a band of grassland with a road. Disturbances include a dirt road within 100 m, cow pasture adjacent (possible runoff); no trampling evident.;Relatively undisturbed appearance; unbroken Sphagnum floor with shrub thickets and small trees. Mid-successional, probably logged but no stumps visible. Some garbage near edge but outside plot.
