Plot is on a north-south ridge located at the western edge of the Allegheny Upland section of the state in the rain shadow. Most of the mountain is either owned by ALCON and is mined for limestone or owned by WestVaco and heavily logged. The plot was placed in one of the somewhat intact forest areas south of the Rich Mtn. An old skidder trail is located along the east edge of the plot. Lots of wind throw in plot mostly headed west with the aspect.
