Large patch of floodplain forest/open tall herbs on an island separated from agricultural valley by a back channel island is mostly successional black locust, but there are also patches of more mature forest with beech, sycamore.;Young floodplain forest along a steep, muddy banked river. First terraces above river is nearly level with relativly little flotsam, may be infrequently flooded or low energy. Foerst is young-middle aged, but mature compared to the successional types on this "island". Highly variable canopy includes sycamore, black cherry, black oak, buckeye, tulip poplar, black locust
