Private land in highy fragmented river bottom, mostly converted to agricultural and residential. Uplands are much less fragmented.;Floodplain of a small river close to the elevational limits of Sycamore. Deciduous forest with sycamore, sugar maple, ash and cherry. There is a lush, diverse herb layer, possibly due to soils enriched by limestone in the basin. Gluvial microtopography with evidence of flooding this season in lower positions of plot.
Representativeness
Relatively homogenous stand of floodplain forest. Some lower positions received more sedimentation and flooding. Similar to deciduous floodplain forest along Shavers Fork. Plot spans terrace and swale.
